Alistair
Monday, October 1st, 2007Alistair first came to Callander at the age of four with his new bicycle complete with stabilisers. Forty years later he is still trying to ride a two wheeler properly but at least now the pavements are safe. He studied Dentistry at Glasgow University for five years, qualifying in 1979. He then spent four years working in darkest Leicester. He returned to Scotland in 1983 and spent a year working in Lanarkshire before opening the doors of the practice here in Callander in 1984. He thinks Callander is one of the best places on the planet to spend time and doesn’t get too depressed about all the rain. “It stops when it gets to your skin anyway”
His Dental interests include orthodontics, sedation, aesthetic restorations, “trying to make false teeth look real” and all new materials and techniques.
Outside the practice he is keen on all things outdoors.

I’ve been Alistair’s hygienist for the past 9 years. I’ve been in dentistry since 1974 when I trained as a dental nurse in Glasgow and Alistair was a very young student. I then went to London to do the therapist course before returning to Glasgow and qualifying from course number 1 as a hygienist in 1980. I am the second oldest of this very young team!!! I work part time in Callander and 2 days in another practice. I live in Doune, a small village 8 miles from Callander, with my husband and two teenagers. It has been known for me to enjoy the odd refreshment and I spend a lot of my spare time walking my 2 black labradors around the country walks in Doune.
Lesley Feather BDS qualified from Edinburgh Dental School in 1993 and has practiced mostly in Macduff in Aberdeenshire. She enjoys gums and hillwalking and general family dentistry
